Weeks 5-7

Hello all,

An eventful three weeks have come and gone. In lectures, we have learned about Evangelism, Fatherheart of God, and Fear of the Lord.

Week 5- Evangelism

In Evangelism, we learned about sharing the Gospel, the Good News that is Jesus Christ. Our speaker said that, “You only truly love someone if you meet them in their greatest need”. The speaker said we need to know God to make Him known. He said we need to reject the lie that God is withholding good things from us. Comfort is the enemy of risk. Fear masks itself as wisdom, discerning between fear and wisdom is to first ask God and also ask oneself if this is selfish or selfless. Sowing seeds is just as important as bearing fruit. When you’re in love with Jesus, you can’t help, but talk about Him.

Week 6- Fatherheart of God

The Fatherheart of God is learning more about His love and view of us. The Father keeps inviting us to come and be with Him. When we look at Jesus, we find the Father. Jesus came to show us the Father. He is so personal and intimate and wants a deeply close relationship with us. The Father loves to celebrate with us, is such a patient teacher, has a furious love for us. His love is intentional, and He exposes sin in such a loving and tender way that prompts people to want to change. The Father waits on our response, He’s waiting for us to run to Him as He’s running to us. I learned that having insecurities is actually unbelief and leads to rebellion. Experiencing the Father’s love will set your identity, but we have a response. We need to respond with receiving His love and saying yes. The Father’s love provides both a definition and an opinion of who you are. You only know who you are when you accept and agree with the Father’s design of you. Complaint over our identity leads to destruction. I learned that living in fear is actually living in unbelief, which leads to rebellion. Unbelief leads to fear and also rebellion. The Father wants to deliver us from our fears. Accepting the Father’s love brings security to our emotions. God really brought deeper healing and freedom in my life this week. He also revealed more of His incredible love for me and that He loves to just be with me in all aspects of my day. The Father is so compassionate, loving, and kind.

Week 7- Fear of the Lord

This week we learned about the Fear of the Lord. The Fear of the Lord is about walking in humility and obedience to God. The Fear of the Lord is walking in holiness because we are walking in alignment with Him. Fear of the Lord is being deeply captivated by God. The posture to have in fearing the Lord is reverence/respect and hating sin. God calls us to be holy because He desires to have deep intimacy with us. We need revelation of God’s Holiness before we really receive revelation of His mercy. We can lose the Fear of the Lord by not being dependent on God. This one really convicted me, we’re as holy as our thought life, ouch. This week was a week of refinement by His double-edged sword of conviction. I had a time of repentance and forgiveness and after I felt such deeper freedom. God gave me such boldness and authority in Him. My desire is to walk in the Fear of the Lord and in the freedom given to me.

Just to show that I do indeed have fun and I’m not only learning and in class all the time, here are some fun adventures I’ve had.
